Yellowstone Canyon -with a view of the Yellowstone River |
Today's photo is from my favorite day at Yellowstone, Day 2 on Sept. 20, 2012, when we visited the CANYON AREA. I have marked about 40 pictures from that morning on the North Rim side that I absolutely LOVE.... WOW--that place is truly magnificent. Hope you get there sometime ---if you haven't been there yet!!!

Magnificent is an understatement!! The photo drew me in and I truly thought I would fall down the canyon and into the river. This pic has impact Betsy - so so beautiful!!
Breathtaking!
Best wishes on the start of your new blog. As long as you add a few words to explain your photos I'm sure it will be a winner. I need to make sure I have put Yellowstone on my bucket list because your photo(s) leave me desperate to visit.
Betsy, great idea for this new blog. I love the Yellowstone shot, one of my favorite scenes.
Wow! This picture rocks... that’s a great view on the roaring river.
Wow, what a view. Awesome, it really takes your breath away with the beauty of God's creation.

I think I have this same shot in my photo album from our first trip there- love it!!!
That is a very beautiful area and your photo is a beautiful shot. I have a similar picture in my album.
stunning photo and the size lets me see all those details.
two thumbs up here....Gorgeous!
Great picture. I was wondering how you got so close to the river, and then noticed this was from the north rim.
Good luck with your new blog.
All the best on your new blog! Love seeing Yellowstone through your camera!
Oh my gosh!! That is beautiful. Very nice photo work.
This is a gorgeous photo Betsy! Your reasons for the new photo blog mirror my own experiences. I gave up my traveling/writing blog a couple of years ago and now only concentrate on my photo blog. Good luck with your new endeavor!

I will likely follow both and add this to my reading list. I do like the one picture blogs even tho I can't do them myself...have too many friends and family that use my blog to know what I'm up to and I'd bet yours is the same!

Lovely photograph. So much detail. Best wishes with the new blog.
Wow, Betsy! What a power-packed picture. The clarity, the depth, the enormity and grandeurt of the Grand Canyon could be "felt"!
THAT is a long way down!
I'm sure you never tired of seeing the unspoiled landscape. :)
Looks like your new blog is off to a wonderful start!
Beautiful header of the roses!
I always love your wonderful photos, Betsy. This one reminds me of our trip to Yellowstone in 2012!
I like any blog you have...yall have an interesting life with photos...I do like shorter blogs (myself) but I will try to catch both of yours:)
Hi Betsey, I never thought your posts were too long. I always enjoy them. But I will be following you on this blog, too. What stunning photos!!!! They take my breath away! Thank you!
Your friend,

Betsy, what a GREAT idea!!! But now will you be posting every day? I know you liked your breaks in between posts! You will have to e-mail me when you have a second and tell me what has been going on. You sure have started it off with a BANG, it is beautiful!!!!!! And I love the gorgeous rose header it is SO beautiful!
Congratulations on your new blog; it's beautiful and I look forward to seeing more of your gorgeous photographs....
Gorgeous photo!
We do not do much traveling at all - just an occasional trip to see the grandchildren or to special UMW events.
Have a good day, Betsy.

Beautiful shot Betsy. I have always like all your shots and explanations so keep them coming. Thanks for sharing. MB
Beautiful, Betsy. It's one of our favorite places, as well.
Hi Betsy,
What a great idea.
I absolutely love this picture, such deepth. I am a follower on both your blogs and will do my best to visit and read as often as I can. I try to get some kind of routine, but due to my job spending all day infront of the computer, I need to rest in the evenings. Hope you enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Eva
I think your new blog is a great idea and I'll be sure to be back again and again. : )
I'm hooked...I'll be here as soon as you post!

Looks like you are a big hit on # 2 also. I'll visit both.
Wonderful shot--such depth.
Yellowstone is my favorite of all the National Parks! Beautiful photo, Betsy!
A place I have always wanted to visit. I doubt I'll ever get there but I can enjoy it through your photos.
You started off with an amazing photo!
First off, I love the header! What better way to start your new blog than by featuring yours and George's gorgeous roses!
I like this idea. On a busy week I can still check in with you.
The only part that detracts a bit is your wording takes up more than I have screen for, so I have to keep scrolling back and forth all the way down the written section. It might not be a problem for anyone else and it isn't a problem per se for me--I'll still visit! Just thought you might want to know.
How wonderful to have a photo blog! Yes, the short posts are nice with a BIG, pretty picture!
It's been 40 years since I was there, but I remember where that is located. To the right is the waterfall, if my memory hasn't completely failed me, LOL. We're looking forward to our long-awaited trip in late September.
Breathtaking! The shortness of this blog reminds me of my own blog...short and sweet. :) Seriously, glad you started this one, Betsy, great job!
i'm here! thanks, betsy!
(internet out today, so i've only got 130 posts to plow through! hate that!)
You're alway overcoming Betsy!
I really LOVE photos, mainly about nature, like yours! Certainly, I'll follow you here too....
Congratulations dear Betsy!!!

What an absolutely breathtaking photo! Love to have been there too.

Dear Betsy, I like the idea of a single photograph with text. I've enjoyed your first blog also--a lot. But sometimes I don't spend any time with all the photographs, I simply read the text. And with this photo of Yellowstone, I really looked at it and examined it. Peace.
PS One of your readers had trouble reading the sentences because they went to the edge of the monitor. I did also until I went to "View" which is at the top of my screen in the Safari ribbon. I clicked on "View" and went to "Zoom Out" and that made the page smaller.
absolutely beautiful, Betsy! thanks for sharing.
Magnificent. The colors are just gorgeous.
One of my favorite places on the planet!!!!
Hope I can be there too:)
Stunning... I haven't been to the Grand Canyon in about 40 years...
That is a gorgeous shot Betsy. I would like to be down on that river in a raft right now. Of course it's probably now all that warm.
Like a couple of other mentioned above your page is a little big for my wide screen monitor, it's the same on your other blog. The only way I can see everything without scrolling is to zoom out.
WOnderful picture, Betsy!! THis was one of our favorite places! We made many potos there!
Wow - this is spectacular!
I like the idea of a photo blog - especially as you can post your shots in bigger format - and for me, the bigger the better!
Beautiful Betsy...Looking forward to visiting Yellowstone this summer!
I love the river winding at the bottom.
That photo makes me feel like I'm about to into that canyon!
Beautiful photo! We hope to visit there someday. :)
So gorgeous! I'll be staying with both blogs, of course! :-) Love your travelogues and this will be a lovely one-shot blog much like what George does...so maybe I better say all three!
Gorgeous picture of Yellowstone Canyon! I would love to visit there some time! Love your header! I am following with GFC. I can't wait to see more!
Congratulations on starting a new blog Betsy. I will visit often and I have also become a follower. The photo is incredible! Have a great day and enjoy your weekend :)
Stunning...the colors are so vivid, and rich looking!!
Looks Beautiful Betsy.
Like your new blog Betsy,
Just a thought, if alternating why not altinate just on one blog?
That is just absolutely beautiful Betsy! It's a picture perfect photo!
Hugs,
Angela
Amazing view, Betsy! I like the idea of a one photo blog post too. My computer is slow and it takes a long time to download a lot of photos. It takes a long time to load them when they are really large photos too, so even this one photo took a long time for me, but I finally got it to load. Is there any way you could use a smaller size photo? We could still click on it to enlarge it, but it loads quicker. Just a suggestion you might want to think about. Good luck with your new blog!
done! following this blog via email now.
Wish some day I have enough time and money to visit all the places that you have highlighted
This one was a great picture
Have a nice weekend
Best regards
Nordis

I can go both ways with photo blogs! I guess I'm going to have to follow both! Amazing photo of an amazing place!
Beautiful! That could be a postcard!
I would hate to fall there! You wouldn't stop till you hit the bottom.
