YELLOWSTONE CANYON

Yellowstone Canyon -with a view of the Yellowstone River
Since so many people enjoy shorter blogs,  I have started a new blog which will feature one photograph with explanation.  This is for all of you who prefer the shorter blogs.  Hope you enjoy this new blog ---and will follow this one too (since I will alternate between the two blogs).  The followers button is below the blog.  Thanks!

Today's photo is from my favorite day at Yellowstone,  Day 2 on Sept. 20, 2012,  when we visited the CANYON AREA.  I have marked about 40 pictures from that morning on the North Rim side that I absolutely LOVE.... WOW--that place is truly magnificent.  Hope you get there sometime ---if you haven't been there yet!!!

Hugs,

Best wishes on the start of your new blog. As long as you add a few words to explain your photos I'm sure it will be a winner. I need to make sure I have put Yellowstone on my bucket list because your photo(s) leave me desperate to visit.

Great picture. I was wondering how you got so close to the river, and then noticed this was from the north rim.

This is a gorgeous photo Betsy! Your reasons for the new photo blog mirror my own experiences. I gave up my traveling/writing blog a couple of years ago and now only concentrate on my photo blog. Good luck with your new endeavor!

Have a good day, Betsy.

Hi Betsy,
What a great idea.
I absolutely love this picture, such deepth. I am a follower on both your blogs and will do my best to visit and read as often as I can. I try to get some kind of routine, but due to my job spending all day infront of the computer, I need to rest in the evenings. Hope you enjoy your day!

Hugs,

You started off with an amazing photo!

Beth said...

First off, I love the header! What better way to start your new blog than by featuring yours and George's gorgeous roses!
I like this idea. On a busy week I can still check in with you.

The only part that detracts a bit is your wording takes up more than I have screen for, so I have to keep scrolling back and forth all the way down the written section. It might not be a problem for anyone else and it isn't a problem per se for me--I'll still visit! Just thought you might want to know.

Donna said...

How wonderful to have a photo blog! Yes, the short posts are nice with a BIG, pretty picture!

It's been 40 years since I was there, but I remember where that is located. To the right is the waterfall, if my memory hasn't completely failed me, LOL. We're looking forward to our long-awaited trip in late September.

Linda said...

Breathtaking! The shortness of this blog reminds me of my own blog...short and sweet. :) Seriously, glad you started this one, Betsy, great job!

Dear Betsy, I like the idea of a single photograph with text. I've enjoyed your first blog also--a lot. But sometimes I don't spend any time with all the photographs, I simply read the text. And with this photo of Yellowstone, I really looked at it and examined it. Peace.

PS One of your readers had trouble reading the sentences because they went to the edge of the monitor. I did also until I went to "View" which is at the top of my screen in the Safari ribbon. I clicked on "View" and went to "Zoom Out" and that made the page smaller.

Stunning... I haven't been to the Grand Canyon in about 40 years...

That is a gorgeous shot Betsy. I would like to be down on that river in a raft right now. Of course it's probably now all that warm.

Like a couple of other mentioned above your page is a little big for my wide screen monitor, it's the same on your other blog. The only way I can see everything without scrolling is to zoom out.

WOnderful picture, Betsy!! THis was one of our favorite places! We made many potos there!

Wow - this is spectacular!

I like the idea of a photo blog - especially as you can post your shots in bigger format - and for me, the bigger the better!

Amazing view, Betsy! I like the idea of a one photo blog post too. My computer is slow and it takes a long time to download a lot of photos. It takes a long time to load them when they are really large photos too, so even this one photo took a long time for me, but I finally got it to load. Is there any way you could use a smaller size photo? We could still click on it to enlarge it, but it loads quicker. Just a suggestion you might want to think about. Good luck with your new blog!
